The Advantages of Buying a New Home at SeaGreen in Greystones

When searching for the perfect place to call home, you need to consider whether a new build or a second-hand house is the right choice for your growing family. Here, we outline the benefits and advantages of choosing a brand new home, and how the houses for sale at SeaGreen in Greystones can meet your every need.

Perfect Condition

The most obvious benefit of choosing a house in a new development is that there is no need to spend on renovations and repairs. Acquiring and paying for your mortgage are large expenses, so the last thing you want is to have to pay for costly fixes and upgrades to the existing structure, fixtures and fittings.

At SeaGreen, your family can walk straight into a house fitted out with a fully-fitted kitchen, luxury wardrobes, low-energy recessed lighting, high-spec ironmongery, and a high-pressure pump-fed shower, to name but a few features.

A brand new home will be ready to move into, and will have the most up to date facilities and features available, all of which will be clean, unused and in perfect working order, so you can avoid the new home costs that many people don’t consider. You should also have the benefit of a warranty that guarantees the house will stay safe and comfortable for many years to come.

The houses at SeaGreen – the three-bedroom Portland, four bedroom Wyndham and Bellevue, five-bedroom Somerby, and latest development at SeaGreen Gate – all come with a 10-Year Homebond Insurance Warranty, so you can be sure that you have bought a house that will remain in perfect condition for generations to come.

The SeaGreen homes are, as a result, built for the future.

Customised Comfort

Buying a second-hand house means that what you see is what you get, but if you buy a new house in the pre-construction phase, you can work with the development team to include furnishings and fittings according to your wishes.

top_insulation_and_energy_efficiency_among_many_reasons_to_buy_a_house_at_seagreen_in_greystones_in_the_new_year_new_phase_seagreen_gate

The expert team at SeaGreen is available on-site and works closely with buyers to integrate specific customisations wherever possible, taking care of redesigns and adaptations, so you can be sure that when you move into your new home, it will be just as you want it to be.

Our high-quality designs mean that many of our features, such as Velux Juliet Balcony windows, which give the houses a unique penthouse feel, are as luxurious as you would wish for, and provide you with the type of extra comfort you may not have even thought of.

Cost Savings

New homes will be built to the highest possible standards, and focus on energy-efficiency as a prerequisite. The use of top-quality insulation and materials means that your home can save you money, reducing energy bills, and can keep its value for many years to come.

All SeaGreen houses are A-rated for energy-efficiency, and we work with NuTech Renewables to design and implement the most sustainable housing available on the market.

Every one of our houses in this development features gas-fired and solar-enhanced heating systems, an A-rated condensing gas boiler, solar thermal panels, thermostatically controlled radiators, high-spec air tightness and insulation, and triple-glazed timber windows, to keep temperatures at an optimum level all year round, while saving you money on unnecessary heat or energy loss.

Chain Free

When buying a new house, you don’t need to worry about being stuck in a chain whereby a previous owner must wait to secure their own new home before you can move in. When you buy a SeaGreen home in Greystones, the house is yours, and ready to move into, as soon as construction is completed.

Consider the Location

Of course, the one thing you can’t change about a house, whether it is a new build or second-hand, is the location. However, SeaGreen is situated in a perfect spot. Overlooking the picturesque and thriving seaside town of Greystones, with the sea on one side and mountains on the other, the development offers a range of outdoor activities right on your doorstep, and all the amenities you and your family need to enjoy a great lifestyle.

Houses along the coast in close proximity to Dublin historically retain their high value, and at SeaGreen you also avail of a modern, sustainable home that increases that value further.

It is also extremely well situated for the commute to Dublin city centre, and to neighbouring towns, and has a number of top-quality schools nearby, so when it comes to finding the perfect place for your perfect home, SeaGreen is hard to beat.

Hidden Gems in Wicklow That Home Owners at SeaGreen in Greystones Can Enjoy

The beautiful seaside town of Greystones is well-known for its outstanding scenery and range of activities, but there are also some hidden gems in and around the area that provide locals with great ways to spend their free time.

It’s the perfect location to call home, with the great transport options making the commute to work easy, and a host of excellent schools close by, but when it comes to getting out and about and enjoying all the area has to offer, Greystones has a few surprises up its sleeve.

victors-way-scultpure-park-hidden-gems-in-wicklow-home-owners-at-seagreen-in-gryetones-can-enjoy.jpg

While many people are aware of the Wicklow Way and the absolutely stunning Cliff Walk, a lesser known and more family-friendly walk lies much closer to home for Greystones residents looking to stay healthy, or simply enjoy the scenery. The Glebe (also known as Jacob’s Ladder), is a winding trail that starts out at nearby Delgany and brings you through fields, along a river, then up some very old steps to the magnificent church overlooking the village. This easy stroll is much-loved by locals, and gives great views over the area.

A short spin in the car will also bring you to the starting point of the Downs Hill walk (pictured below), a place as peaceful as it is beautiful, where, on a good day, you can enjoy panoramic views over Greystones and the coast, as well as the imposing Sugar Loaf mountains, and all without the crowds.

downs-hill-hidden-gem-in-wicklow-for-seagreen-greystones-home-owners-to-enjoy.jpg

Powerscourt is deservedly recognised as one of the most beautiful places in ‘the garden of Ireland’ to spend a day, but Mount Usher Gardens in Ashford (below), less than 20 minutes from Greystones, is a well-kept secret. These gardens are a perfect place to unwind, to take time to, literally, smell the roses, before rewarding yourself with a tasty treat from the on-site Avoca café. Renowned horticulturist Monty Don says these gardens are one of his favourites anywhere, and we tend to agree with him.

mount-usher-gardens-hidden-gems-wicklow-for-seagreen-greystones-home-owners-to-enjoy.jpg

Another place that offers up the unexpected is Victor Way (or Victoria Way) near Roundwood (main picture), which really has to be seen to be believed. Covering nine hectares and including small lakes and wooded areas, this private meditation garden and sculpture park influenced by Indian philosophy offers up rare tranquillity, as well as some very eye-catching artworks. Dedicated to computer scientist and cryptographer Alan Turing, it focuses very much on providing nourishment for both body and mind, and is well worth a visit.

Speaking of nourishment, Greystones’ very own The Happy Pear has become a national sensation, but the village has many other, less well-known eateries that local foodies are more than happy to keep to themselves. Chakra, for example, is one of the best Indian restaurants in the country, and can be found right in the heart of Greystones.

Those who enjoy the active lifestyle and are looking forward to the upcoming Winter Olympics should be delighted to know that 20 minutes away is the Kilternan ski slope (below). While our island nation is used to the many water activities you can enjoy in Greystones, we don’t really expect to have ski facilities, but these artificial 180 metre and 130 metre slopes are among Europe’s finest, and give ski and snowboard fans the chance to practice their moves (or learn how to stay upright) before facing the real thing. The Ski Club provides lessons for all levels, and children will have a great time trying out tubing – the safe and fun way to tackle the slopes.

kilternan-ski-slope-club-hidden-gems-of-wicklow-home-owners-at-seagreen-greystones-can-enjoy.jpg

Of course, while these hidden gems are some of the Greystones area’s lesser-known treasures, the beautiful high-quality houses for sale at SeaGreen are less of a secret. These energy-efficient homes overlooking the picturesque village offer buyers the perfect base to start out on the many outdoor pursuits the surrounding area provides, and are a wonderful place to return to after a rewarding day out with the family.

The three-bedroom Portland, four-bedroom Wyndham and Bellevue, and the five-bedroom Somerby houses at SeaGreen, provide families with the comfort and living space they need, and bring with them the benefits of energy-saving features that keep bills down all year round.

SeaGreen_houses_for_sale_greystones_ways_to_save_money.jpg

The latest phase of development, SeaGreen Gate, will launch soon, and will also put a firm focus on sustainability combined with comfort and superior fixtures, tailored to your tastes and needs. These four-bedroom houses include top-quality insulation, solar thermal panels, high-tech triple-glazed timber windows and thermostatically controlled radiators, so you can ensure that no matter what activity you enjoy in Greystones, you can always return to a cosy home.

New Year, New Home: Energy Efficiency and Top-Rated Insulation Among the Many Reasons to Buy a SeaGreen Home

The start of January is the traditional time for change as we shake off the old year and ring in the new, and when we make decisions about what we can do to improve our lives. One of the biggest decisions we will ever make in life is finding the perfect place to call home, and with Christmas behind us and as we enter 2018, that decision could be made a lot easier for you as the launch of latest development of houses at SeaGreen in Greystones approaches.

new_year_new_home_energy_efficiency_insulation_low_energy_bills_at_seagreen_houses_for_sale_greystones_seagreen_gate_best_houses_reasons_to_buy.jpeg

Apart from the spectacular and beautiful setting in a perfect location, the range of activities that offer you and your family the chance to enjoy a great lifestyle, and the outstanding schools nearby, SeaGreen is perfectly situated to make the commute to the city and surrounding areas easy and comfortable.

And that’s before we even mention the houses themselves!

Our latest phase of development, SeaGreen Gate, is planned for spring of this year, and appropriately for this time of year, offers a ‘gateway to a new life’. This phase of four-bedroom semi-detached, mid-terrace and end terrace homes will continue our focus on sustainable, luxurious, high-quality builds that our buyers have seen in our three-bedroom Portland, four-bedroom Wyndham and Bellevue, and five-bedroom Somerby houses they are glad to call home.

When looking for a new house in January, one of the first things people tend to look out for is how warm and comfortable the home is, as these first few months of the year usually bring us a lot of cold weather. The A-rated energy efficient houses at SeaGreen are designed and built to the highest standards, so potential buyers will be pleased to see just how cosy and inviting they are, not just in winter, but throughout the year.

quality_insulation_and_energy_efficiency_at_seagreen_in_greystones_houses_for_sale_in_2018_new_year_best_luxury_homes.jpg

This energy efficiency also means that your energy bills will be kept at a minimum – good news after the expensive Christmas period, and when considering making such a large financial investment in your ideal home.

Though Greystones has the benefit of a mild climate, we know that good insulation is important for the comfort of your family, and we use the best possible materials, high-spec air tightness and insulation to ensure our houses are kept at an optimum temperature all year round, as Fran the Roofer explains here.

While the cold weather lingers outside, inside these homes the gas-fired and solar-enhanced heating system and A-rated gas boiler give perfect, efficient heating throughout the house and instant hot water on demand.

Solar thermal panels, Norwegian-made high-tech triple-glazed timber windows, and thermostatically controlled radiators add to that warm and cosy feeling, with no energy or heat lost, and any excess stored until it is needed. This dramatically cuts down on energy waste, so you can add helping the environment to your list of New Year resolutions.

top_insulation_and_energy_efficiency_among_many_reasons_to_buy_a_house_at_seagreen_in_greystones_in_the_new_year_new_phase_seagreen_gate.jpg

The latest phase of development at SeaGreen goes that little bit further when it comes to energy efficiency and comfort, with remote heating and lighting controls, and cabling for electric vehicles on every house as standard. This idea of building for the future means that SeaGreen house buyers will have a place to call home for many lifetimes to come.

Speaking of the future, the A-rating on these homes will see their value increase over time because of the level of cost-savings involved, combined with the cost savings you can make when you buy a brand new home, and the New Year is a great time to start thinking about how the house you plan to buy can help save you money in the long run.

A Merry Christmas and a Happy, Exciting New Year at SeaGreen in Greystones

The festive season is well and truly upon us, and we would like to wish all of our buyers, past, present and future, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at SeaGreen in Greystones.

merry_christmas_from_seagreen_wood_group_luxury_houses_for_sale_in_greystones_new_yeat_phase_three_development.jpg

We have had a very busy and rewarding year as we continue to build our development in an unrivalled location overlooking the village and the sea. We were truly delighted to build on this site to give our buyers all the benefits of a home in such a beautiful setting, while also being able to avail of a great lifestyle, and the superb schools, the area has to offer.

Our three-bed Portland, four-bed Wyndham and Bellevue, and our five-bed Somerby houses Have provided our buyers with A-rated energy-efficiency, so while we might hope for a White Christmas, we can be sure that it will also be a green one.

As with all of the Wood Group homes, we focus on sustainability and comfort combined at SeaGreen. Each of our houses features efficient heating systems including heat pumps, gas-fired and solar-enhanced heating, and photovoltaic panels that turn light into energy, while the thermostatically controlled radiators mean that these houses remain at an optimum and efficient temperature. This is great all year round, but especially cosy for those Christmas evenings with family and friends.

But we also work with our buyers to ensure they get the perfect house to call a home, in an ideal setting from which they can enjoy all that Greystones has to offer, whether that’s at Christmas, or in the glorious summer months by the sea.

Having broken ground in 2016, the first phase of the SeaGreen development of houses for sale in Greystones was ready in January and had completely sold out ahead of construction.

woodgroup-homes-team-1.jpg

Phase 2 saw a similarly huge level of interest as we brought more three- and four-bedroom homes to the market. As you can see from one of our flyover videos from early in the year, we had a lot of work to do to build our latest phase of development, starting with SeaGreen Avenue and SeaGreen Drive.

By the end of March, the development was starting to shape up nicely as our team worked tirelessly to construct these superb energy-efficient houses with the best materials on the market and get them ready in time for our buyers.

Blessed with good weather, by the start of the summer, the first ten houses on SeaGreen Avenue were near completion, and we continued to work on Numbers 11 and upwards while the foundations for the first houses on SeaGreen Drive were ready to be built on, as you can see here.

By the end of June, half of this street had begun to take shape, and the long summer days meant we were able to make great progress on the site, turning our attention to SeaGreen Park as September rolled around and we put the final touches to SeaGreen Drive.

The colder weather didn’t stop us, and we continued to turn this beautiful site into a high-quality development that comes closer to completion with every passing day. A look at our flyover video from November will show you just how much has been done since the start of the year, but we won’t be stopping any time soon because we are building for the future.

We are very excited about our next phase of development, planned for spring 2018 and called SeaGreen Gate. It will consist of four-bedroom semi-detached, mid-terrace and end terrace homes. We have taken the wishes of our potential buyers on board to tailor these new homes to their specifications, and have thus made many improvements to their design, resulting in what will be a new development of luxurious, energy-efficient houses to be proud of.

There will be more information about this latest phase coming soon, so keep an eye on our website and blog for further details.

In the meantime, have a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

Building For the Future With Efficient and Sustainable Living in the Comfort of a SeaGreen Home

As with all of our developments, the houses for sale at SeaGreen in Greystones have been built with a focus firmly on not just luxury and high-quality features, but on energy-efficiency and sustainability.

SeaGreen_houses_for_sale_Greystones_sustainable_living_with_energy_efficient_homes_saving_on_bills_protecting_environment.jpg

This sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, from the design of our houses and neighbourhoods, to our commitment to using only the best quality features that help reduce environmental impact, leaving the smallest carbon footprint while giving you big savings on running costs.

With an A2 energy rating, our three-bed Portland, four-bed Wyndham and Bellevue, and our five-bed Somerby homes are as energy-efficient as you can get in a modern development. Based on the feedback we have received from buyers, we know that people are looking for high-quality, energy-efficient houses that represent good value and savings on future bills, while helping to keep the environment clean.

That is why we aim to provide the same level of energy bill-saving quality to our latest phase, which will be ready in spring 2018.

SeaGreen_Greystones-sustainable_living_with_energy_efficient_houses_for_sale-to_save_on_energy_bills_in_comfort_for_future_living.jpg

Our houses are all built with the best quality materials, as Bill Quigley from NuTech Renewables, who work with us on this development, explains. Our dedicated team also works extremely hard to create comfortable homes with outstanding high-spec features that will last for generations, so you can enjoy living in this perfect location today, while being safe in the knowledge that they will be just as energy-efficient in the future.

To achieve this environmentally-friendly goal, we utilise efficient heating systems, including heat pumps, gas-fired and solar-enhanced heating, as well as photovoltaic heating panels that turn light into energy. As standard, all of the heating features are controlled by electronic and thermostatically controlled radiators, so the homes are always at an optimum and efficient temperature, no matter what time of the year it is.

SeaGreen_houses_for_sale_Greystones_energy_efficient_for_sustainable_living_future_proofed_homes_good_for_environment.jpg

Our high-spec insulation and high-performance triple-glazed windows ensure no energy or heat is lost and that any excess can be stored until it is needed, cutting down on waste and again, helping the environment.

This sense of future-proofing the houses at SeaGreen, and keeping this beautiful part of Ireland green, extends to our upcoming phase of development. These homes will also include new energy-saving features such as remote heating a nd lighting controls, and cabling for electric vehicles on every house as standard. Electric cars are becoming more popular and may soon be a common sight on our streets, which is good news for the environment, and we feel, a perfect fit with the green philosophy we bring to all of the houses we build.

The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) offers grants to people who buy an electric car, so those who do so and who buy one of the houses in our latest development, will not only be environmentally sound, but will save on both home energy bills and on motor tax and running costs too – something to think about when making the easy commute to Dublin or the surrounding areas.

Apart from enjoying the great lifestyle you can avail of by living in this beautiful development in Greystones, the huge benefit of a SeaGreen house is that with its A2 energy rating, you will be far ahead of energy regulations, and can look forward to a comfortable and sustainable family life well into the future.

Looking Back at Our Glendale Development and Looking Forward to Our Next Phase at SeaGreen in Greystones

At Wood Group, we pride ourselves on building high-quality and high-spec houses in  the most desirable of locations, and our team focuses on working with buyers to turn those houses into the ideal home to suit their needs. We have already completed several phases of development at SeaGreen in Greystones, and are excited about the next phase, which we expect to be ready in spring 2018.

Our three-bed Portland, four-bed Bellevue and Wyndham houses, and our five-bed Somerby houses for sale in Greystones, have been designed with energy-efficiency top of mind, combined with superlative features, fittings and design, and they continue our long history of developing beautiful homes.

One such earlier development we are very proud of, and which will give you an idea of the level of style, functionality and high-spec features we will bring to our next phase at Seagreen, is our bespoke and exclusive development of eight four-bed detached houses at Glendale in Delgany, Co Wicklow.

Glendale_delgany_houses_from_Wood_Group_hint_at_next_phase_of_houses_for_sale_at_SeaGreen_Greystones_4.jpg

Situated at the Old Nurseries in this beautiful village, these A3-rated five-bedroom houses were built in 2015 and were very quickly snapped up. They stand in a private wooded enclave on one and a half acres, with landscaped green areas throughout, so buyers can enjoy the serenity and peacefulness of the countryside, within minutes of a thriving village that has so much to offer in terms of a great lifestyle for the whole family.

Our goal has always been to build high-quality residential developments in which superb craftsmanship and fine attention to detail is married with inspiring architecture to create prestigious homes of character and personality, and Glendale fits this description perfectly.

We wanted to provide families with the type of home they could really call their own, and worked with them to discover and deliver on the features they felt were most important. We also wanted to ensure the houses were not only functional, but cost-efficient, and kind to the environment, as well as being outstandingly beautiful and stylish, giving enough room for a family to grow in comfort.

As with the houses at SeaGreen, the homes at Glendale have placed an emphasis on sustainability and energy conservation to keep bills for buyers down and the environment clean. These homes include energy-efficient, high-performance double-glazed windows, gas fired central heating, a high-efficiency condensing boiler, low voltage recessed lighting throughout, great insulation, high-pressure pump-fed showers, and a rainwater harvesting system.

Glendale_delgany_houses_from_Wood_Group_hint_at_next_phase_of_houses_for_sale_at_SeaGreen_Greystones_1.jpg

Just as we do at our SeaGreen development, we worked with NuTech Renewables to develop a solar-powered heating system that keeps energy bills at a minimum while providing all the heat and hot water your growing family needs.

On the design front, the Glendale houses included some great features, including a fully-fitted kitchen with timber painted doors and granite worktops, a double oven range, solar powered remote-controlled Velux windows, panoramic bi-fold patio doors, luxury wardrobes in all bedrooms and beautiful wall tiling.

Glendale_delgany_houses_from_Wood_Group_hint_at_next_phase_of_houses_for_sale_at_SeaGreen_Greystones_3.jpg

They also came with a Homebond ten-year guarantee, so buyers could be sure that their houses were secure, built to the highest standards, and would last throughout their lifetimes and beyond.

From the images you can see here and by viewing our gallery, you can see just how beautiful and stylish these houses at Glendale are, and how they provide the perfect comfortable home environment from which our buyers can go out and enjoy all that this spectacular part of our country has to offer.

Glendale_delgany_houses_from_Wood_Group_hint_at_next_phase_of_houses_for_sale_at_SeaGreen_Greystones_2.jpgThe success of the Glendale development has inspired us to even greater heights, and we are confident that, having listened again to the requests and feedback from our buyers, we can build more superlative houses for our next phase of development at SeaGreen.

These homes will include the same high level of energy-efficiency and style, the same dedication to providing all you need to live in comfort in beautiful surroundings, and perhaps even more.

The Active Lifestyle In Greystones When You Buy Your Home At SeaGreen

Our dedicated team has been busy all year turning the exciting new development of houses for sale in Greystones into high-quality homes, but you can keep just as busy in the perfect location too. With a nod to the very informative and entertaining Greystones Guide, we take a quick look at just some of the activities, sports clubs, facilities and amenities for all ages that make this a great community in which to start the next phase of your life.

Mum & Dad

The leisurely activity of golf is just perfect for Greystones, and a short distance from the beautiful new houses for sale at SeaGreen are a couple of excellent courses. Situated in a beautiful and scenic area, what better way to spend your time in Greystones than by ‘ruining a good walk’ with 9 or 18 holes on one of the local golf courses?

Dubbed ‘Wicklow’s friendliest golf club’, Delgany Golf Club overlooks the town of Greystones and has as its backdrop the Sugarloaf Mountains. It has a proud Ryder cup heritage, a family-friendly vibe, and is one of Ireland’s oldest member-owned clubs. It also has a great membership offer up to the end of next year. You can find out more about the club here.

Charlesland Golf Club (pictured) is right by the south beach in Greystones and also brings a proud heritage with its 7,000 metres of prime land. Refurbished facilities and a beautifully designed course make Charlesland a big favourite amongst locals, and the flexible membership fees don’t hurt either. Also availing of its beachside proximity, the club has the luxurious SoBe healthy living hub that offers a café and fitness studios, and so much more.

Charlesland_Golf_Club_Greystones_near_SeaGreen_houses_for_sale_perfect_location_active_lifestyle.jpg

Not to mention, of course, the nearby Druid’s Glen Golf Club, one of the top five parkland courses in Ireland and multiple-time host of the Irish Open and illustrious Seve trophy, the ‘little gem’ that is Kilcoole Golf Club, and the many other fine courses across the county.

The women’s rugby team has been in the spotlight lately with an interest in the sport on the rise for some time thanks to the success of Leinster and the national team in general. Rugby has always been a popular pursuit for people of all ages in Greystones thanks to Greystones Rugby Club, based at Dr Hickey Park. There’s always room to join up to become part of a team, or simply to enjoy being a member of a proud club that has produced, at last count, nine Irish internationals.

If all that talk of sport has made you hungry, there are thankfully a lot of choices when it comes to refuelling, with Greystones a real foodie delight. Try out The Burnaby on Church Street, where you can get great pub grub and a pint in one of the more relaxed places in town.

Fitness buffs, or those who just want to stay healthy enough to enjoy the great outdoors in the garden of Ireland, will enjoy Go Gym, where classes range from yoga and pilates to weights and bootcamps to Zumba and spin to boxing.

Open early and late every day except Sunday, when the hours are still pretty good, it’s a great place to get fit, have fun and make new friends in this homely yet thriving town.

For women who want to look their best, Zero One Salon is a favourite haunt (and top-rated for hair extensions we are told), with a personalised approach to each customer and some lovely little surprise extras thrown in making it a great place to go for your hair and beauty needs.

Another great place to eat in Greystones is The Happy Pear, dubbed by locals as ‘the happiest place on Earth’ and a café/restaurant that sees many followers flock from surrounding areas to dine on the healthy and great-tasting food. The family-run establishment started off as a fruit & veg store before branching out to become an organic food eatery, and popularity soon grew into a range of books, classes and YouTube shows.

The Children

There are so many sporting pursuits to choose from that children will find they are spoilt for choice in Greystones, but one thing this seaside location can offer that other towns can’t is the Greystones Rowing and Kayak Club. This is a fun and unique way to stay healthy, make friends and appreciate the shoreside, all while sitting down!

For those who prefer their fun indoors there is Zoom Adventure Play, or Zap for short, an indoor play and activity entre that has enough fun to keep children of all ages entertained. Tunnels, slides, obstacle courses and ball cannons across four floors, as well as a toddler area mean the children will be able to spend hours on end playing and making friends, while Mum and Dad sit back and relax in the spacious seating area and munch on the tasty treats made in-house.

Not forgetting great places for children to enjoy a tasty snack, the fantastic gluten and guilt free frozen yoghurt outlet Mooch has opened in Greystones, meaning children can get a healthy and delicious treat from as early as 7.30am – perfect if you are planning a full day out and about or if you want to fortify the kids before they head off to school.

We are only touching the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the number of great activities and fun things to do around Greystones, and all of these can be right on your doorstep if you choose to buy one of the beautiful, high-spec, energy-efficient houses for sale at SeaGreen.

Register your interest in one our upcoming new development and you too could soon be enjoying the enviable lifestyle that goes with making one of these houses the perfect home for you and your family.

Also in Greystones are the Catholic primary schools St Kevin’s National School and St Laurence’s National School, which cater for boys and girls from junior infants up to sixth class, and St Brigid’s National School (pictured above), which caters for the same age groups in a Christian environment, as does the Church of Ireland-run St Patrick’s National School.

Just a couple of kilometres away in nearby Delgany is Delgany National School, a co-educational school under Church of Ireland management, which prides itself on its green approach and Discover Primary Science initiative.

For younger children, Greystones Community School opened its doors in 2015 to junior infants only but now caters for senior infants and, just this year, first class, and will expand year on year up to sixth class. Currently in temporary residence at Greystones Rugby Club, the school is set to move to a brand new building very soon.

For secondary school students, TempleCarrig Secondary School is also very close by, and though it is run by the Church of Ireland, it caters for students of every faith or non-religious background, while St David’s Holy Faith prides itself on not just the educational but physical, spiritual and social development of its pupils working closely with the family of each student.

Just five kilometres away in Kilcoole is Coláiste Chraobh Abhann, a co-educational, multi-denominational secondary school with a focus on mutual respect for all students.

Only slightly further afield, the prestigious Loreto Abbey in Dalkey is just a 20-minute DART ride away, and many of the students from Greystones make this trip together daily, making friends (and some noise) along the way.

For boys, half an hour away by DART in nearby Blackrock, there are the prestigious St Andrew’s College (pictured), which has a very international ethos, and the influential Blackrock College, and as with the girls, many students make the journey each morning and afternoon together.

There are so many excellent schools to choose from in Greystones and the surrounding area, so whether you have children in secondary school, primary school, junior infants or just want to plan ahead for the family you will have, SeaGreen is a great place to live and will offer all the education they will need and you will want them to have.

How The SeaGreen Team Are Turning Your House Into A Beautiful Home

Buying a new house is a major commitment, but what is most important is turning that house into a home you can call your own and in which you feel comfortable. Everything about it, from the fixtures and fittings to those little features that make it stand out from the rest need to be at the level you expect, to guarantee your happiness lasts a lifetime.

At SeaGreen Greystones, the entire team has worked to make this a reality. From Keith the forklift operator who breaks the ground and transports materials to the site of this new development right to the top of the houses with Fran the roofer, and everybody in between, the team working on the SeaGreen houses are very proud to have turned this new build into the perfect home for you.

Keith has been working with SeaGreen for three years, but is still amazed by the coastal views offered by this perfect location by the sea, a sentiment shared by all of the team who have worked on this site to turn this exciting development into luxury, high-spec houses, especially Fran the roofer, who has enjoyed the fantastic views all summer.

Ray the Plumber has overseen the installation of the 3 ½ horse power water pump that looks after all of the plumbing in the SeaGreen houses at Greystones. The rain head shower in the en suite and a separate shower in the main bathroom, as well as all of the sinks throughout the house, all operate off this water pump to give outstanding water pressure at all times. There’s no noisy pipe rattling though, with this feature the quietest on the market.

Heat production from the heat pump is half the price of that from a conventional boiler, and a quarter of the cost of an immersion system, making it the most efficient way to produce hot water in your home, and meaning your energy bills stay extremely low as you enjoy all the comfort and benefits of a SeaGreen home.

You can read more about the benefits of these super-energy-efficient houses here.

Ray is also very impressed with the piping throughout the house, saying it is of a quality he has never seen before in Irish homes. A German manufactured multi-layer pipe, the fittings, he says, have a ten-year no leak guarantee. Other beautiful features in the bathroom of these homes include the wide shower doors and the soft-shut toilet seats that guarantee longevity.

Ken the carpenter, meanwhile, has been very impressed with the triple-glazed Velux balcony windows in all four-bedroom houses to date at SeaGreen. It’s top pivoted for easy opening and spacious head height, and when you open the bottom section it opens out to become a railed balcony so that you can enjoy being outside, even when you are inside. ‘Like having the benefits of a penthouse apartment, in your family home,’ he says. Perfect for summer days, and for enjoying the fresh sea air all year round.

John the electrician is particularly proud of the fuse board and electrical fittings, saying every part of his job involves using the highest-quality materials, from the chrome sockets to the LED bulbs to the solar panels and heating, ‘all top-spec’ as he says.

He too mentions how the high-spec energy efficiency that is central to all SeaGreen houses means energy bills are kept to a minimum, meaning you can be free to spend your hard-earned money on the things that matter most to you, and enjoying all that Greystones has to offer you and your family.

Fran the roofer has used high-quality tiles that he says will last not just a lifetime, but far beyond, and are both ventilated and insulated to the highest levels to give these houses a comfortable and easily maintained optimum temperature all-year round.

These high-quality specs, fixtures and fittings are the important foundations upon which each SeaGreen development is built, and with the on-site team working to give you direct access to contractors, you can be sure that you can turn your new house into the perfect home. You can also get some furnishing tips from interior designer Eily Roe, who is available on-site to meet you and give advice on how to perfect your home interiors.

Check out the video below to see just how beautiful these homes are, and what you can look forward to calling your own.

The same goes for expats considering a move home to Ireland who want to be close to family and the lifestyle they have become used to abroad, but also secure a home that offers the comfort and space to begin the next phase of their lives.

As for maintaining your social life, the quick journey time to the city and amenities such as Dundrum Town Centre mean you can keep up the lifestyle you wish, though you may very quickly see your family and friends visiting you a lot more in your scenic and comfortable new surroundings in Greystones.
