Enjoying The Perfect Summer Day In Greystones

We’ve had some really great weather lately and for the most part it looks like the Irish summer is here. Although Greystones is just south of Dublin, in general the weather is more favourable, especially during the summer months, and it is the perfect place to spend long days in the sun.

As the new houses for sale at SeaGreen in Greystones take shape, we thought we would think about the perfect way to spend your time in this perfect location set between the mountains and the sea, just outside Dublin city centre and on the doorstep of the ‘garden of Ireland’.

Within such close proximity to the sea, the obvious first choice on a great day is to head to the water and enjoy a swim. If you prefer being on the water rather than in it, you could get a sailing lesson at Greystones Sailing Club, or if you already know your jib from your mainsail, perhaps head out into the bay and up the coast to enjoy some beautiful sights such as Bray Head or Dalkey Island from a unique vantage point.

After working up an appetite, it’s great to head to the bustling but friendly village for brunch or lunch at one of the many great cafes, gastropubs and restaurants that are only a 15 minute walk from SeaGreen. Whether you are looking for healthy vegetarian fare at the renowned Happy Pear, a pizza from the bakery at the Delgany Inn, to treat yourself at The Hungry Monk, Chakras or the 3 Qs, or to enjoy a crepe at Creperie Pierre Grise, you will be spoilt for choice.

It’s always nice to take a stroll around the shops too, and Greystones has more than its fair share of boutiques and stores offering designer jewellery and fashion, art and interior design. It’s easy to get distracted and forget to buy in the essentials for dinner later, but luckily there are a lot of local shops on the way to remind you.

After a lovely first part of the day to yourself, it’s always nice to gather the troops to spend some time together, so next it’s off to collect the children from one of the many activities available in the Greystones area. Meet the children as they come out of one of the summer camps held every year, or from the skate park or leisure centre. You might even cheer them on as they play a match or just train with one of the sports clubs. Whether they are into football or tennis, hockey or GAA, there’s a sports club here to help keep them healthy and happy throughout the long summer days and all year round.

As the afternoon wears on, it’s great to take the family down the coastal route by hopping on the Dart at the close-by train station, and travel around the beautiful bay towards Dublin, where you can take in the sights of the Sugarloaf Mountain on one side and Howth on the other.

If you are keen to keep moving, you can always opt instead to bring the family on a stroll down the Greystones to Bray cliff walk, joining the trail just down the hill from SeaGreen.

You might not want the long summer day to end, but you also need to head back to your home to get the family fed. And is there anything better on a lovely summer’s day than a barbeque?

The houses at SeaGreen, while built to the highest-specs to ensure they are kept at the optimum temperature all year round, also boast an ample garden in which you and your family can unwind and cook up an outdoor feast.

The luxurious fittings and features in many of these houses, such as the unique Velux Juliet balcony in the four-bedroom Wyndham and Bellevue homes that opens out to give youa penthouse feel, and the spacious living rooms, also mean you can enjoy watching the evening draw in across this beautiful area from the comfort of your luxurious home.

That sounds like a perfect summer day to us, and it’s the type of great lifestyle you could be enjoying too, if you choose to buy a house at SeaGreen. Perfectly located, convenient for all types of transport, filled to the brim with activities for you and the children, and with terrific local amenities, not to mention outstanding natural beauty, it’s the ideal place to spend your ideal day, and owning a house at this exciting development is more affordable than you might think.

If you’ve always wanted to live this kind of relaxed and comfortable, invigorating lifestyle in a beautiful setting, it’s time to think about SeaGreen and start dreaming of those summer days by the sea.
