Loreto Abbey Dalkey, one of Ireland’s most prestigious girl’s schools is set on visually spectacular grounds. Teachers and staff know each girl individually and strive to provide each one with a rounded education, offering a wide range of curricular and co-curricular choices. The school is only a 20 minute DART ride to Dalkey, from Greystones and lots of children from the school make this commute every day together. Delgany National School is a co-educational school under Church of Ireland Management. There are just over two hundred pupils ranging in age from four to twelve years. There are twelve full time teachers and a number of part time specialist teachers. GaelScoil Na gCloch Liath is a co-educational, all-Irish, interdenominational primary school set up in 2008 under the patronage of the Foras Pátrúnachta, to cater for the demand for all-Irish primary education in the local area. The school operates under a joint Catholic and Protestant ethos, creating an understanding and acceptance of Catholic and Protestant modes of worship. Greystones Community School is a brand new primary provision for the Greystones area that opened its doors for the first time in September 2015, taking in Junior Infants only. However it will soon expand year on year up to 6th class. The school is currently based in temporary accommodation at Greystones Rugby Club but will eventually move to a brand new building. GREYSTONES / DELGANY SECONDARY SCHOOLS
Temple Carrig Secondary School is proud of its links with the local community and seeks to build on those links. The Board of Management of Temple Carrig Secondary School is also mindful of the Church of Ireland ethos of the School which permeates all aspects of the education of their pupils, however pupils are welcome from widely differing faith traditions and many come from backgrounds of no faith at all. ON THE DART LINE SCHOOLS
The 8 o’clock DART from Greystones station on any weekday would provide a very interesting social study into teenage behaviour! You’ll notice that groups of school going passengers make very discerning carriage choices as they make their way to their morning classes, so look out for the Willow Park and Blackrock carriage, or the St. Andrews carriage, or the Loreto or Holy Child Dalkey girls all together in another! Taking the DART to school from Greystones for the first time is as simple as the ABCs, just follow someone in a uniform like yours!
